Due to concerns relating to the Stolen Valor Act of 2005, as well as U.S. The game received "generally favorable reviews" according to video game review aggregator Metacritic. Servers supported up to eight players and let them choose from several scripted and generated missions. Until Ubisoft shut down the servers for the game in 2013, Silent Hunter 4 featured an online adversarial mode and gave players the opportunity to command Japanese destroyers and pit them against US submarines. Unlike the earlier title, however, the game gives more specific and varied mission objectives during the campaign-including rescues, reconnaissance and agent insertions-rather than just assigning a specific patrol area. The major naval battles of the war in the Pacific, such as the Battle of Midway, are re-enacted and players are informed of them by in-game radio messages. The game gives players various mission objectives and unique rewards, and attempts to make each campaign a unique experience. Like its predecessor Silent Hunter 3, the simulation features a dynamic campaign. The game allows the player to choose how realistic and challenging the game experience is to be and it is designed to allow new players to easily master the basic game play, while allowing for experienced users to manually control systems such as crew management, torpedo allocation, radar, sonar and target trigonometry. The systems of the vessel are largely functional and the player is exposed to many aspects of submarine warfare of the time. The simulation uses detailed and accurate 3D graphics to immerse the player in the environment of a World War II submarine. An expansion pack, The U-Boat Missions, was released in 2008. The game allows players a variety of play modes including career, single war patrol and single battle engagements. Navy submarine during World War II and takes place in the Pacific theater. Go to targeting and drunk mouse again, takes forever to fire shotsand get the periscope down and moving the reticle is always big jumps.I'll be spending lots of time in the essentials thread just looking for what you actually press todo things not explained in the on-disk manual at all, and the training missions just don't cover. When you're being shot at isn't the time to figure out how to raise, lower, and traverse a gun!So far, I liked Aces of the Deep a lot better! I've read posts at subsim where others were askingwhy things from earlier versions (I and III) were dropped for example and noted bugs in 2007 thatI dunno if they were fixed or not so I quit reading! Silent Hunter 4 Patch U-boat I havean older PC, 2600 Sempron with right now 1G RAM and Fx5200 video with graphics set LOW and no music.I have another G of RAM that was out over power problems when I also ran an ATI X800 off 350W PS.The X800 seems to have gone bye-bye so the RAM or power situation may be good, perhaps better play.I have no problems with mouse when on the Nav or Attack maps (btw, how to zoom the Attack map?) andnot terrible out on the bridge. There's just a LOT more Bobs and Daves in my generation, from the 50's.Well I got it and first thing had to synchronize and still on some screens the mouse is very drunk, the game very slow to notice button of key input, they have to stay down maybe 1/2 second. Oh well!- 10/30/08 07:54 AM Re: Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific-v1.4 Patch Available NOWJoined: Oct 2000Posts: 9,451Permanent Latrine OrderlyPermanent Latrine OrderlyHotshotJoined: Oct 2000Posts: 9,451. I looked my first and last name up on a people search one time and found over 1100 instances. It was unusual for me to meet another Neal outside family (3 of us named after 1) until the 70's,maybe late 60's.What kicks me is how many people see me spell my name and still spell back Neil. Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific takes players to the depths of the Pacific Ocean as the skipper of an American submarine.
